Where Muse is available

Muse launched from Meta Superintelligence Labs on September 8, 2026, in one country: the United States. It ships on iOS, Android, the web at muse.ai, inside WhatsApp, and since September 17 as a Mac app. Press reports say signup asks for a payment card, even for the free tier, and the app is listed in the US App Store and Google Play.

The searches that lead people here tell the story: "Meta Muse India," "Muse Canada," "Muse UK," and "Muse AI not available in my country." None of them has an answer from Meta yet.

Why the wait may be long

Meta has not said when Muse leaves the US, and it has not said why it started there. Anything beyond that is guesswork, so we will not guess. What can be said is that Muse runs entirely in Meta's cloud, asks for a card at signup, connects to Gmail, bank accounts via Plaid, and checkout via Stripe Link, and can phone businesses on your behalf. Each of those is likely to need per-country work. None of that is a date. It is a reason not to plan around one.

What you can run today, anywhere

Maus is a free, open-source desktop app that keeps the useful part of Muse, an agent that does the work while you do something else, and drops the parts that stop at the border. It is a chat app where every contact is a bot. Each bot runs on the claude, codex, or grok CLI installed on your computer, using the login you already have. Nothing about it checks where you are.

The honest requirement: you need a Claude, Codex, or Grok login that works in your country, since those providers have their own availability rules. If you have one, or a local model behind an OpenAI-compatible endpoint, you are set.

A computer for each bot

Muse works in a VM in Meta's cloud. In Maus a bot can control your own machine (macOS, Windows, or Ubuntu 24.04 on Xorg), or you open the Computer panel and a cloud desktop spins up for that bot with a live preview and a take-over button. Cloud VM partners include Orgo and Daytona.

The bot asks first

Shell commands, file edits, and questions land in the chat as cards before they run. Allow, deny, or answer, on your own computer and on a cloud one alike, with a decision log you can read later.

Beyond that: pick a model per bot and switch mid-conversation, connect 500+ apps over Composio with OAuth once per app, run bots on a schedule or from a webhook, put bots in a group room where they hand work to each other, and call a bot to hear what ran overnight. Your data lives in ~/.maus on your disk, and npx maus serve puts it on a VPS or behind Tailscale if you want it reachable from your phone. Other options that do not check your passport

• OpenClaw (MIT, ~390k stars) is a self-hosted gateway you reach over WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, iMessage, and 20-plus other channels, with Claude, OpenAI, DeepSeek, or Ollama behind it. It runs anywhere Node runs. It is terminal and config-file driven, its command approvals default to off on gateway hosts, and it had a rough year on security, so read the docs before exposing it.
• Hermes Agent (MIT, ~248k stars) from Nous Research is a single self-improving assistant that runs on a $5 VPS, with a desktop app in public preview and Codex-style command approval. It works with Nous Portal, OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic, or Ollama.
• Grok Bot from xAI is the closest closed product to Muse in ambition, a roster of bots on a cloud computer. xAI has not published a region list, so it may or may not work where you are. What Muse does that these do not

Three things, and they are real. Muse can phone a US business on your behalf, in beta since mid-September; Maus bots talk to you on a call, not to a restaurant. Muse keeps working with your phone in your pocket on every task, because the agent never lived on your device; Maus only does that for bots on a cloud computer. And Muse needs almost no setup: no CLI and no login to a model provider. If you are in the US and those are the jobs, Muse is the better tool today. If you are not in the US, they are not on the menu, and the options above are.

Frequently asked questions

Is Meta Muse available in India, Canada, the UK, Australia, or the EU?

No. As of September 22, 2026, Muse is available in the United States only, to people 18 and over. We found no announced launch date for any other country. Watch Meta's newsroom for changes; this post will be updated when there is a date.

Can I use a VPN to get Meta Muse?

We do not recommend it. Regional restrictions are usually covered by a service's terms, and it is unreliable in practice: Muse asks for a payment card at signup and ships through the US App Store and Google Play, so a non-US card or store account is a second and third check the VPN does not pass.

Is there a Meta Muse waitlist for other countries?

We found none. As of this writing there is no public waitlist or country-by-country roadmap that we could find.

Does Maus work in India?

Yes, and in every other country. Maus has no region check of its own. It runs on the claude, codex, or grok CLI installed on your computer, so the only requirement is that your login with that provider works where you are.

Is Maus free?

Yes. The app is free and Apache 2.0 licensed, with no card and no quota of its own. You keep paying your model provider what you pay them today. The pricing page lists Pro and Enterprise; the app itself is free, and the features list shows what it does.
